Next After Hours Show: Gordie Tentrees Band February 28 at 9pm $10
Gordie Tentrees is from the cold and rustic Yukon Territory and writes like a disciple to preeminent Texas storytellers.
Touring to support his his 3rd album, Mercy or Sin, (produced by Juno Award-winning producer Bob Hamilton) Tentrees will be making his only Portland appearance at our deli on February 28. Joining Gordie (dobro, guitar, harmonica) will be legendary multi-instrumentalist Ken Hermanson (banjo, lapsteel, guitar) and singing sensation Jennie Sosnowski (upright bass).
Selected as one of the best of Canada’s songwriters, Tentrees' CD release tour includes performing at the upcoming Vancouver Winter Olympics.
“Alfred” leads off the record, a darkly poignant acoustic tale -“Walks with a hitch, right side hip, reads a dirt palm, right before he spits, thinks on the rain, hollers for the end, Alfred is old his blood ain't thin.”
But don’t settle in for a mellow country/folk album, because he brings his resophonic guitar and stomp board to a roaring “No Integrity Man” for a decidedly blues-rock feel—and a hint of rockabilly on “Same Old Blues.” Tentrees and band are relentless road-warriors, with almost 200 dates the past year in Canada and Europe.

We buy farm direct when available and use only organic oils, (no canola)organic grains, flours, produce, spices, beans, nuts, seeds, canned goods, and well practically everything. We specialize in offering options for people with food allergies.
We are also committed to sustainability. By using compostable togo containers, green renewable power, composting everything we can( we don't even have a trash in our lobby) and choosing green building products in our remodel we are providing tasty organic vegan food and are changing the world, one meal at a time.
